Open Days 2007!

  • 18th - 20th May
  • 2pm - 6pm daily

In May last year we held an Open Day (we decided not to call it an Exhibition as we thought that too many people would be put off attending, whereas an Open Day allowed for that lovely Nosey Factor!). We displayed the work of 30 students and twelve invited artists with work ranging from oil painting to photography and bronze sculpture. The standard was extremely high.

The aim was to present the artwork in an accessible way to ordinary people - to everyone. We were overwhelmed by the response - we had around 400 visitors in the one afternoon. This year we are doing it again, but for a weekend rather than just one day, from 18th - 20th May.

This is a show with a difference - much of the artwork will be for sale, but not all of it. This gives artists and students alike the opportunity to have their work seen without the pressure of having to sell - no gallery will exhibit work that is not for sale, and

sometimes artists aren’t quite ready to part with some pieces. Any artwork that IS for sale is sold without commission - all money goes to the artist.

This year we are delighted to be including work by Jean Regan, Gordon D’Arcy and P.J.Lynch, who is so well known for his beautiful water colours.

Do try to make it for a visit, it’ll be a great day out.
